In You Only Live Twice, an American space capsule is swallowed up by what is believed to be a Russian spaceship. Consequently, World War 3 nearly breaks out. The British Government, however, suspect that other powers are at work as the spacecraft went down near Japan. SPECTRE is the force behind the theft, as James Bond (Connery) discovers. The motives of SPECTRE are far from clear and Bond must find out where the captured space capsule is being held. This should be done before America and Russia initiate another World war.
