Description

Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson (Rourke) was a successful wrestler. Twenty years have passed and he is now he is decadent, living alone in a trailer. He now works part time in a supermarket and wrestles at weekends. After a wrestling match, Randy suffers a heart attack which leads to a heart by-pass. His doctor forbids him to wrestle ever again. Randy decides to retire and proposes that the stripper, Pam “Cassidy” (Tomei) move in with him. She does not accept and suggests that he approach his daughter Stephanie (Wood) to resolve their differences. Randy then gets a fulltime job in the supermarket, but he does not deal well with the world outside the arena. He decides to return to the sport where he is recognized by his fans.
