The sci-fi adventure series called Galaxy Quest took place aboard the intergalactic spaceship NSEA Protector. Eighteen years after the series was cancelled the cast, Jason Nesmith (Allen), Gwen DeMarco (Weaver) and Sir Alexander Dane (Rickman) are still making appearances at sci-fi conventions and shopping mall openings. They are wallowing in despair and they are at each other’s throats. Then aliens, known as Thermians, arrive. They mistake the series for fact and consequently model their entire culture around this. The aliens take them into space to save them from the genocidal General Sarris (Sachs) and his armada.
