The film, Independence Day is set during the 4th of July weekend. Humans have received a strange signal which has turned into a global phenomenon. Heading towards Earth is a massive spaceship. Smaller spaceships then start to cover entire cities all around the world. David Levinson (Goldblum) is an ex-scientist who has turned cable technician. He has discovered that the aliens are going to attack. This quickly turns into horror as the spaceships destroy cities with their energy weapons. The alien ships are invincible to human military weapons. The President of the United States (Pullman) decides to head to Area 51. here he has to formulate a plan which can defeat the aliens. Now the fate of the whole world will rest on just a handful of surviving humans.
