In Space Cowboys, Frank Corvin (Eastwood), Hawk Hawkins (Jones), Jerry O’Neill (Sutherland) and Tank Sullivan (Garner) are hotdog members of Project DAEDALUS. This is the Air Force test program for space travel. Their hopes were dashed in 1958 with the formation of NASA and the use of trained chimps. The team then blackmail their way into orbit when the mysterious Russian, Ikon communications satellite begins to degrade. It now threatens to crash into Earth.
