In this 2003 Italian Job remake, Charlie Croker (Wahlberg) brilliantly conceives and pulls off an original gold robbery from a Venetian bank. Charlie then gets betrayed by cahoot Steve (Norton). His henchmen steal all the loot and kill Charlie’s prospective father-in-law. He was the retiring master criminal John Bridger (Sutherland). Having tracked down Steve to L.A., where he lives like a king, albeit it without imagination, from the sale of the gold bars. Charlie reassembles the team for revenge. This will include the getaway driver and seducer, Handsome Rob (Statham). Also in the team; an IT genius, an explosives expert and John’s daughter, his own ex safe expert, Stella (Theron). The seemingly flawless plan goes pear-shaped. Charlie must now improvise on the job while Steve stops at nothing, having murdered his fence to leave town.
