Description

This superb filmcell features the Oscar nominated movie, Von Ryan’s Express (1965). Stars Frank Sinatra, Trevor Howard and Raffaella Carrà.

Von Ryan’s Express is set in August, 1943. Colonel Joseph L. Ryan (Sinatra) of the U.S. Army Air Forces is shot down in Italy. Ryan is taken to a prison camp and finds that it is populated by the Royal Army’s 9th Fusiliers. Their commanding colonel has died. They are now under Major Eric Fincham (Howard). He must now answer to Ryan, as he is ranked the new senior officer of the prisoners. As an American POW, Ryan leads his fellow prisoners on a dangerous escape from the Germans who are in Italy. Having seemingly made errors of judgment, Ryan has to win the support of the mainly British soldiers he is commanding.
