This movie is a fictional documentary. It is about the life of a human chameleon called Leonard Zelig (Allen). A man who had become a celebrity in the 1920s due to his ability to look and act like whoever is around him. Clever editing places him in real newsreel footage of Woodrow Wilson, Babe Ruth, and others. Eventually, under the care of the famed psychiatrist, Dr. Eudora Nesbitt Fletcher (Farrow), he was given the nickname the Chameleon Man because of his ability to change his being so effortlessly.
