Description

Susnet Boulevard is set in 1950’s Hollywood. The film focuses on Norma Desmond (Swanson), a silent screen goddess. Norma has a pathetic belief in her own indestructibility and this has turned her into a demented recluse. She lives in the crumbling Sunset Boulevard mansion with only her butler, Max (Stroheim) who was once her director and husband. The mansion has now become her self contained world. Norma dreams of a comeback to pictures and she begins a relationship with Joe Gillis (Holden), a small time writer. Joe becomes her lover, which will then leads to a murder and a collapse into total madness.
